best keto friendly condiments – various low-carb and keto condiments in a cart

We get saucy with the best of ’em

Whether you’re using them for cooking or dipping, these keto-friendly condiments are our favorite complement to any meal. While some are naturally keto and some are sugar-free adaptations of your favorites, we’re excited to share our low-carb favorites!

Mayonnaise

best keto-friendly condiments — mayo

Oh mayo, how we love you… Low in carbs and high in fats, creamy mayonnaise is perfect for the keto diet! Mix it in with some sugar-free ketchup and you have a super yummy dipping sauce (we also call it “fry sauce” in Idaho).

We like: Kraft Real Mayo

Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 90 | Total Fat: 10g | Total Carbs: 0g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Mustard

best keto-friendly condiments — mustard

Mustard. It’s a little tangy, a little spicy, and adds a whole lot of flavor no matter what you’re adding it to. You can opt for a stone ground version for a little texture or a French dijon if you’re feeling fancy. Whatever you do, stay away from honey mustard, which contains sugars.

We like: Heinz Yellow Mustard

Serving: 1 tsp | Calories: 0 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 0g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Soy sauce

best keto-friendly condiments — soy sauce

Soy sauce is a great source of sodium and electrolytes so it’s perfect if you’re experiencing a bit of the keto flu! You can also use coconut aminos, especially if you’re eating gluten-free and want to avoid (even fermented) soy.

We like: Kikkoman Soy Sauce

Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 10 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 1g | Protein: 1g

Hot sauce

best keto-friendly condiments — hot sauce

Made from only vinegar, chile peppers, and a touch of seasoning, hot sauce should definitely be a pantry staple. Plus it pairs deliciously with blue cheese dressing! I put this stuff on everything, from pizza toppings to wings.

We like: Frank’s RedHot sauce

Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 0 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 0g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Full-fat ranch, Caesar, blue cheese, and Italian salad dressings

best keto-friendly condiments — olive oil and vinegar dressing

You’ll have to be a little more diligent in checking labels for salad dressings since the nutritional value can vary – even for the same dressing types! As a rule of thumb, go with options that have a carb count of 2 carbs or less per serving. (I thin my ranch slightly by adding a little less than 2 tablespoons of water for easier pouring and greater coverage.)

We like: Hidden Valley Ranch, Wishbone Chunky Blue Cheese, Newman’s Own Italian, and Olive Oil & Vinegar Dressings

Ranch — Serving: 2 tbsp | Calories: 140 | Total Fat: 14g | Total Carbs: 2g (0g fiber, 1g sugar) | Protein: 1g

Blue Cheese — Serving: 2 tbsp | Calories: 130 | Total Fat: 14g | Total Carbs: 1g (0g fiber, >1g sugar) | Protein: >1g

Italian — Serving: 2 tbsp | Calories: 130 | Total Fat: 13g | Total Carbs: 1g (0g fiber, 1g sugar) | Protein: 1g

Lemon/Lime juice

best keto-friendly condiments — lemon and limes

Don’t discount the impact a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice can have on your meals. The bright and refreshing citrusy flavors are perfect for finishing off salads or chicken! Don’t want to keep fresh fruit around? You can score lemon and lime juice in bottles, too.

Lemon — Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 7 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 2g (0g fiber, 1g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Lime — Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 4 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 1g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Sugar-free ketchup

best keto-friendly condiments — sugar free ketchup

Do not let the lack of sugar fool you, this sugar-free ketchup is full of flavor. Most reviewers said they can’t tell the difference between the original! Even better, this sucralose-based ketchup is my family’s favorite, and they’re about as picky as people come.

We like: Heinz No Sugar Added Ketchup

Serving: 1 tbsp | Calories: 0 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 1g (0g fiber, 1g sugar) | Protein: 0g

Sugar-free BBQ sauce

best keto-friendly condiments — sugar free bbq sauce

You go, grill! These sugar-free sauces make chicken, burgers, ribs, and steaks all the more flavorful without a crazy amount of carbs. I even add some to the slow cooker with flank steak, pork loin, and cheap cuts of meat at the end of the cooking cycle for some added flavor.

We like: Walden Farms BBQ Sauce or G Hughes Smokehouse BBQ Sauce

Walden Farms — Serving: 2 tbsp | Calories: 0 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 0g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

G Hughes — Serving: 2 tbsp | Calories: 10 | Total Fat: 0g | Total Carbs: 2g (0g fiber, 0g sugar) | Protein: 0g

We love these condiments!

No matter the reasoning (or the seasoning), find what works for you and let us know what that is. It might just become our new obsession, too. Enjoy!

Marzetti Classic Ranch, sold in the refrigerator section, is only 1 carb. Not much of a difference than 2, but it tastes good. I will look for the bbq sauce as I thought it was off limits.

    • Lefrancois

I have tried the BBQ sauce and it’s tasty

  2. Deb

Be careful of the oils in these salad dressings. Many are Canola and Soybean oils.

  3. Tere

I thought you could not have soy sauce on keto diet?

    • Amber (Hip2Keto Sidekick)

Hi there! You will want to limit soy sauce to some degree since a tablespoon is roughly a carb. It’s a YMMV type of item.

    • Kimberly

Duke’s mayonnaise is soooo much better! Also, it’s so easy to make Hidden Valley Ranch’s Buttermilk Dressing at home with the envelope, Duke’s mayo and real full fat Buttermilk. Tastes so much better than all the bottle stuff and much lower in carbs. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Tere

I have been reading soy and soy products are a no no on keto, that is why I asked

  5. Susan

I believe that there is dextrose in the sugar free ketchups

  6. Danni

Always read ingredients, not just the nutritional values because they are misleading. Any vegetable oil in not healthy Keto. Make your own ranch dressing and mayo without all the added junk.

  7. Heather

Vegetable oils (canola, soybean, all seed oils) cause damage to arteries and chronic inflammation and should be avoided at all costs. YouTube video “the oiling of America” is extremely informative regarding these oils.
Eat real, whole foods and avoid anything processed!

I came across your site on Pinterest. Always love a good Keto site for tips and tricks but this is more of a low carb site.
There are so many great options out there that are actually Keto. I encourage you to dig a bit deeper. Chosen foods and primal kitchen are a couple of our go to brands.
Keto On and good good luck on the journey to health and healing

  9. Glinda

Love this, thank you so much.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! Glad to hear that, Glinda! You are SO welcome!

  10. Debbie

Those Ranch dressings have maltodextrin in them. Total no.

  11. Susan

Thanks 🙏 for all the work y’all put into this site! I have had an islet cell transplant and have to watch my carbs. Keto makes it happen!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are SO very welcome, Susan! ❤

I love a good spinach, walnut, feta and blueberry salad! Has anyone found a raspberry vinaigrette dressing (or recipe) that is low carb?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! Walden Farms makes a Vinaigrette and with really good ratings. You can find it here.

    • tangie

skinny girl has an awesome raspberry vinaigrette, very low carb
