In the mood for a keto frosty? Check out how we created a copycat keto Wendy’s frosty!
Are you a fan of the popular Wendy’s chocolate frosty?
It’s pretty much one of my favorite treats EVER! If you miss that creamy chocolate dessert too, here’s an easy way to make a copycat Wendy’s keto frosty at home that tastes very similar to the real deal! The texture is similar to a frozen mousse, and I think you’ll really like it as a low-carb and super-satisfying treat!
The best part – it whips up in just a few minutes. Hooray for crazy-easy dessert ideas!
Let’s talk about Wendy’s Frosty calories.
Per Carb Manager, there are 350 calories in a small chocolate frosty, with 58g of net carbs! 😱 While ours is over 400 calories, primarily due to the fat content in the heavy cream, it only has 9g of total carbs and 5.6g of net carbs!

Hip tips to make the best Wendy’s-inspired keto Frosty:
- I added just a tablespoon of almond butter (you can also use peanut butter or even cream cheese for fewer carbs).
- I used liquid Stevia, but feel free to use your favorite sweetener of choice and adjust to taste.
- If you’d prefer, this can be made in a stand mixer such as a KitchenAid. It’ll take a couple of minutes for stiff peaks to form.
- Have a dairy allergy? Consider swapping heavy cream for full-fat coconut cream instead!
- For a vanilla variation: Use 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 heaping tablespoon cream cheese, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon liquid stevia, and ½ teaspoon Swerve confectioners.
- For a Peanut Butter Chocolate variation: Use 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon sugar-free peanut butter powder, 1/2 teaspoon liquid Stevia, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon Swerve confectioners.
This looks fancy, but this Wendy’s keto frosty was super easy to create!
To get the fancy soft-serve look, scoop the chocolate frosty in a plastic freezer bag, cut the end from the corner, and pipe it into small cups.
It’s a very rich dessert, so the serving size is small. I love that it’s a creamy and smooth dessert idea. It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a Frosty-like treat!
The liquid Stevia left a bad aftertaste and it just tasted funny. I’ll have to try another type of sweetener.
Hi Jill. Darn I’m sorry to hear that. I am personally a big fan of Monkfruit. Maybe you can try that instead! Hope this helps❤
So when I look at monk fruit in the store it has sugar carbs but when I see it in recipes it doesn’t seem to add in. Am I missing something? Please help🙏🏻😂
I thought Monkfruit was 100% Carbs… ?
Hi Janette! It actually has 0 net carbs. You can find more details on Monk Fruit over here –> https://hip2keto.com/tips/what-is-monk-fruit-sweetener/

NO CARBS ! MONKFRUIT
I had a similar problem. It was very creamy and definitely could taste the Wendy’s flavor but it was overpowered by bitterness. I Thought it was because of the cocoa. Maybe it was the stevia.
I really like monkfruit because there is not an aftertaste. You could sub in a few teaspoons of that instead. I would use what I have on hand which is granular.
yes i agree monkfruit is the best . NO AFTER TASTE AT ALL
How much monkfruit? I tried this today using a similar recipe which called for 3 tablespoons of sweetener to 1 1/2 cups cream. It was way too much and tasted awful. Thank you.
When you use Monkfruit, you cut the sweetener in half. For the recipe you made, you would only use 1 1/2 Tablespoons. In this recipe above, you could start out with 2 teaspoons and taste it. You could add a little more if it’s not sweet enough at that point.
What would the conversation be for monk fruit sweetener. I don’t have liquid
I would start with 2 teaspoons and taste it to see if it’s sweet enough.
I haven’t tried the recipe yet , but a great fix for bitterness is a pinch of salt. I use Sweetleaf stevia almost exclusively if I’m using straight stevia whether powdered or liquid. I don’t use an erythitol blend unless I have no other choice. (It’s in my monk fruit blend) I found that mixing sweeteners also helps the flavor and I will mix stevia with my monk fruit blend.
I like the swerve sugar replacement to me. No after taste.
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GOING TO TRY THIS
Yay! Hope you enjoy it, Noah!
Tried both vanilla and choc and very good except the serving sizes!!! I could easily eat two servings and still call it a small so the carbs do mount up but still worth it.
I used my Dash ice cream maker, 20 mins.
I know what you mean! I could eat a lot more of this! Glad you liked it, Heidibeth!
How did you make it vanilla?
Hi there! That option is listed above!
“For a vanilla variation: Use 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 heaping tablespoon cream cheese, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon liquid stevia, ½ teaspoon Swerve confectioners.”
I just bought the small dash ice cream maker yesterday! Do you have any tips to using it with this recipe?
Made it today!! Easy and delicious!! I substituted the PB for 1TBSP of cream cheese and the liquid stevia for 1TBSP of monkfruit sugar substitute. 2net carbs per serving! I will be making this one again
Great substitutions, Sandy brasher! I’m glad you are adding this to your rotation! It’s a great Keto dessert.
THANK YOU, added strawberry extract and a drop of red food colouring. Cut the sweetener to only Lakanto…strawberry milkshake or leave it longer and strawberry ice cream.
YUM! You’re so welcome! Thanks for letting us know how you made yours!
Thanks for this easy recipe!! I had some heavy cream to use up and made this tonight – used granulated monk sugar to replace the stevia, based on comments. It tastes great but is a bit gritty (I’m thinking because it wasn’t a liquid sweetener). Is there anything I can do to use granulated monk sugar but have this dessert be smoother? I’m trying to get my husband/son into keto/sugar-free desserts so am trying to avoid any kind of bitterness.
Hi Amanda! Be sure to check out all of our sweetener alternatives and how to use them over here –> https://hip2keto.com/tips/low-carb-keto-sweetener-conversion-chart-recipes/
Hoping this is helpful!
You can just blitz granulated sugar in a nutribullet until it becomes powder. That’s what I do & it works like a charm!
Do you have to use almond butter? I’m just afraid it will add a strange taste.
Hi there! You could use peanut butter or cream cheese instead. 😊
Using a piping bag is such a waste of time, and yumminess lol Who does that, really??
So mean- she was showing a way to make it look like the Wendy’s Frosty. Why do you have to be so ugly?
I really want this recipe and others sweets for Keto desserts
Hi Diane! You can find all of our yummy desserts over here – https://hip2keto.com/category/keto-recipes/desserts/ Hope that helps!
Could all ingredients be put in a nutabullet?
Yes, I think that’d work great!
I would like to know how much coca powder you use in your recipe
Hi Helen! For this we used 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder.
When I look at monk fruit in the store it shows sugar carbs, but in recipes it doesn’t seem to reflect. What am I missing? Please help😂🙏🏻
It does show carbs from sugar alcohol. If you are using net carbs, then you subtract all sugar alcohol which means they have zero net carbs.
Wow – this was awesome. It did taste like wendy’s frosty(except more pure) . Used monk fruit.
YAY! So happy to hear you enjoyed this recipe, Kim! Thanks so much for the feedback on what sweetener you used! 🙌
