holding hot dog with relish and mustard

There’s nothing like an all-beef hot dog all dressed up in fancy relish!

Hot dogs get a bad rap. Sure, there are some really gross varieties and brands out there, but a high-quality, all-beef frank is definitely a star at summer BBQs and cookouts. Let your favorite low-carb hot dogs shine even brighter with these easy and delicious 5-minute keto relish recipes!

three mason jars of keto relish varieties

Hip tips for jazzing up store-bought relish:

    • I love grilling up jumbo-size beef franks and substituting the hot dog for the bun. Simply cut a slit down the length of the dog (about 3/4 of the depth). Once grilled, load the cut with your fav toppings… relish, no-added-sugar ketchup, mustard, chili, cheese, onions—The possibilities are limitless!
    • For the Sweet and Spicy Relish recipe, the Giuliano Hot & Spicy Jalapeno Spread adds wonderful color and flavor. It’s sold in most grocery stores for around $2. However, in a pinch, you can substitute it with chopped, jarred jalapenos.
    • Were you recently invited to a BBQ? Prepare all three varieties of relish to give as a thoughtful gift set to the host.
    • For a quick and easy keto tartar sauce recipe: Mix equal portions of mayonnaise and Garlic Lover’s Relish (recipe below). Season to taste with sea salt and freshly ground pepper.

I have a question . . . How can your relish recipes be considered keto when they contain a prepared relish which has sugar in it?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! The Vlasic dill relish does not contain sugar. Be sure to use the dill variety or your favorite no sugar added relish. Hope this helps!
