Keto Christmas Tree Pull Apart Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

Keto Christmas Tree Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

yield: 10 SERVINGS

prep time: 30 MINUTES

cook time: 25 MINUTES

total time: 55 MINUTES

Ingredients

Easy Keto Dough:

Cheesy Garlic Filling:

  • 1/2 cup or 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 large teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley

Topping:

  • shredded parmesan cheese, optional

Directions

1

To make the dough:

Combine the mozzarella cheese and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and then cook for an additional 30 seconds or until the cheese has melted completely.

2

In a small bowl, add together almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk, baking powder, and salt, then stir to combine.

3

Add in egg and dry ingredients to the melted cheese and stir. Add bowl back to the microwave for 30 seconds (this helps mix the dry ingredients). Once everything is mixed well and blended, you can make the dough into a ball shape.

4

Divide dough into two equal pieces. Place one dough ball between two pieces of parchment paper and roll it out 1/4" thick into a shape of a long triangle, similar to a Christmas tree. Repeat the same identical triangle shape with other dough. Place one triangle on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

6

To make the cheesy garlic filling:

In a bowl, mix together all filling ingredients. With a spoon or spatula, spread filling over the dough that is on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

7

Add the other triangle dough on top of the filling. Pinch sides to make sure everything is lined up evenly.

8

With a knife or pizza cutter, cut 1” strips “branches” into the center of the triangle leaving about 1" in the center “tree trunk” until you have reached the bottom. Repeat on the other side as well.

9

Slowly grab a strip or branch and gently twist one time. By this time, the dough might be firm, so just be gentle twisting and pinching. If the dough is too firm to twist, pop the tray in the oven for 30-60 seconds to slightly warm it up. Twist all branches until you have reached the bottom.

10

Place in oven and bake until nice and golden brown, about 20-28 minutes. If the twisted breadsticks start to turn too brown before the center does, place foil over the edges of your baking sheet to prevent the burning of the breadstick "branches".

11

Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before diving in. Enjoy!

The most festive keto appetizer ever! 🎄

Want to give your family a little something extra special this Christmas? Why not make this fun Christmas tree pull-apart keto cheesy bread for an appetizer?!

I used our amazing easy keto dough recipe and kicked it up a few notches for a holiday snack that the entire family will be munching on. They’ll never even realize it’s low carb, it’s that good!

Hip tips for making the best keto Christmas tree pull apart cheesy garlic breadsticks:

  • When rolling out your keto dough, place the dough between two pieces of parchment paper. This will prevent it from sticking.
  • For the filling, make sure to not melt the butter completely, you just want it softened to have a paste consistency so it spreads evenly over the dough.
  • Did you know Kerrygold sells garlic and herb butter? It must be amazing because it’s always sold out at my grocery store, but I’m dying to try it.
  • Make sure you roll the dough pretty thin. Since you will have a filling and two layers of dough, you want to be able to twist the branches easily with a thinner piece of dough.
  • If you want to make this into a heartier appetizer, add pepperoni slices and dip the breadsticks into your favorite keto marinara sauce. I love Rao’s because it’s delicious and has no added sugar, too!

My team member, Jenna, gave this recipe a test for me, and here’s what she had to say:

“I absolutely love anything food-related that is Christmas-themed and this does not disappoint! It’s beautiful, fun to make, and tastes great. I can’t wait to make it again and use pepperoni and a little extra cheese on top.”
