Hangry for Hardee’s? Craving some Carl’s?

Both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s offer helpful nutrition guides for dining, but it helps even more to have a little keto help from someone who’s been where you are when you’re wondering what to order.

The basics of successful ordering:

  • Avoid buns, wraps, bagels, biscuits, breading, and french fries.
  • While the Green/Red Burrito menu of Carl’s/Hardee’s is delish, skip it. The options are too carby.
  • When in doubt, leave condiments out.
  • For drinks, stick with water, black coffee, unsweetened iced tea, or Diet Coke products.
  • If the menu says “sugar-free”, check the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s nutrition guides anyway.

This is a nice bowl of food [in the image above, left]! The steak and egg burrito comes with two eggs, two servings of steak, and two servings of salsa. The salsa only adds a carb, but you can nix it if you’re not a fan. The plain, black coffee is your safest caffeinated bet here.

I wanted to test a theory and see how much food you’d get in this breakfast sandwich [image above, right] versus the steak and egg burrito minus the shell [above left]. I mean, it’s a monster biscuit, right? At two eggs, a sausage patty, a slice of cheese, and two strips of bacon, it’s about the same amount of food. I’m not sure I’m a huge fan of a lettuce wrap for scrambled eggs (points for effort, though!).

Available all day, this sandwich is available to come lettuce wrapped, but I’d advise you rethink that option. Iceberg lettuce and scrambled eggs are not a good texture/flavor mix (I tried it and didn’t like it, but your experience may vary).
