Homemade Keto Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal is Easier Than You’d Think to Make
Keto cereal isn’t easy (or cheap) to come by.
Even when you find a great-tasting box, there’s usually a high cost attached to it. Erica here at Hip2Keto took matters into her own hands to try out a keto cinnamon toast crunch cereal recipe from Gnom-Gnom so she could replace her kids’ favorite breakfast with a healthier, keto option.
Here are some of Erica’s tips when trying this keto cereal recipe:
When you’re cutting these small squares (by the way, this is WAY easier than it looks!), if you don’t have a ruler, you can use a knife instead. If you use a knife, be sure to go back and forth real quick to try and separate and make space between the squares just a little so they don’t cook back together in the oven!
When the cereal comes out of the oven, you might be sure you messed it up. (Thank goodness, you’ll be wrong). It is very important to follow every step of this recipe. When you pull this out of the oven, it literally feels and looks like a very thin cake. Scary, I know!
You have to make sure you wait for this sheet of cereal goodness to rest. These ingredients need time to cool off and harden up. You will be surprised at how hard the pieces will get just by giving them some time to cool.
You might actually be a bit nervous making this recipe. I get it, making Cinnamon Toast Crunch doesn’t sound like an easy recipe to tackle. But I’m here to tell you, if I can do it so can you and it really did end up turning out great and so DELICIOUS!
While her kids loved eating this cereal straight up, Erica took this awesome tip from Hip2Keto reader Terry and crumbled the cereal over some yummy vanilla keto ice cream! She says it was so good! You’ve got to try this for yourself!
