Missing gooey cinnamon rolls?
Try making this delicious 3-Minute Keto Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake in the microwave for an easy dessert! It’s a very simple idea that comes together quickly and uses just a few basic ingredients. You’ll be biting into a yummy cake in minutes!
Note on Sweetener:
I used a powdered Stevia blend called Truvia as a sweetener in this mug cake, but you can definitely sweeten to taste with your own sweetener of choice. For example, Collin made this and used two packets of Truvia to sweeten.

What a delicious little mug cake.
It’s not overly sweet like an actual cinnamon roll, but very subtle and rich. I love the buttery glaze and cream cheese frosting! Such a great once in a while treat, when you’re craving something extra!
Looks yummy!
Thanks Jennifer!
HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TO EAT… EXAMPLE BAKED HAM & CHEESE CUPS CAN YOU EAT 2 OR 3?
Hi, Leo! That really depends on your carb intake goals for the day. These cups are pretty filling, so 3 would definitely do the trick, and should only set you back 6 total carbs. Also for this mug cake – servings is 1. Servings are listed under the title of recipe, and that’s how it populates the nutrition label per serving.
Question, it says “for the glaze” and it says to mix cinnamon , but in the above list there is no cinnamon in the recipe (for the glaze)?
THANKS Leo- You’re right we left off the small amount of cinnamon- 1/4 teaspoon! Fixed π
Thank you! I made this last night after I worked out, and it was so yummmmmmy!!!!
Iβm so glad! Youβre welcome ?
This looks amazing – I’ve just been introduced to mug cakes and can’t wait to try this – I love cinnamon rolls. Thanks!
Oh thanks you. Enjoy Jamie!
Looks good but 600 calories???
Thank you this was so amazing and Iβve been wanting something sweet!! So simple which I love. Keeps these recipes coming..?
You bet! You’re very welcome Lisa! SO happy you enjoyed it!
Just curious. Why would you use both a glaze and cream cheese frosting? That sounds like it would be very sweet. Iβm diabetic and on a low carb diet, Iβll try to make this where it isnβt as sweet, because I love cinnamon rolls. Can I leave off the glaze and just use the cream cheese frosting by itself.
Yes of course adjust to taste. It may be a little dry without the glaze. Let us know how you make it?
Mine rose much taller than this. I actually sliced it in 4 slices. Are the macros listed divided into multiple servings, or are these ingredients equivalent one serving?
Hi there! This makes one serving. Hope that helps!
I just devoured a cinnamon roll mug cake. It was delicious and just what I needed. Thank you so much. Now anxious to try the raspberry cheesecake ice cream (next week). I think I’ll make it now that I have a desert to look forward to each week.
Thatβs so great Debbie! Thanks for sharing ?
599 calories?? A lot …
Delicious! I didnβt have almond flour so I used coconut flour instead. Iβm sensitive to refined sugar (headaches etc) so this was perfect.
Doubled the recipe and made in a small loaf pan, perfect for 3 and what a great cake, so good to have the taste without the sweetness, thanks for sharing
Oh great! Thanks for sharing ??
Can you use swerve? How much?
Hi there! Be sure to check out our Sweetener conversion guide over here –> https://hip2keto.com/best-sweeteners-diets-conversion-recipe/ Hope that helps!
Doubled the recipe, more than enough for three, itβs really lovely, it will be my go to this winter. I left the sweetener out of the cake but used it in the glaze, works perfectly. Thanks for developing and sharing this, itβs a big help. Iβm not concerned about the calories when it doesnβt raise my blood sugars
Perfect – thanks for sharing Lesley!
You need to add vanilla to this recipe.
It was ok but I think Ill use coconut flour next time and add more stevia to the cake part and cream cheese icing.
Just not sweet enough!
I have been loving this. Today just realized it has 60 GRAMS of fat!!! I wondered why all of a sudden I had gas all the time. Gall bladders cant take that load all at one time. So just be aware high fat content can trigger a gall bladder attack. I am going to try it again with subbing unsweetened apple sauce for all the fat and see where that lands me. I know that throws it out of keto, which I am fine with. It still gives a protein boost for those of us who dont get a lot of meat.
I am definitely NOT a recipe maker, but tried it as stated above with unsweetened apple sauce and it was so close to the original. Just needed 1 1/2 T. It lowers the fat by about 20 gms, 40 instead of 60. And ups the carbs …too small to count. So may be a winner for anyone needing to lower fat per serving.
Thanks for the great recipe
I used coconut flour because that is all I had. It was so dry that I could not even eat it. I was choking on it. Did I do something wrong or is it really that dry?
SO sorry to hear how dry it turned out for you, Angela. β€οΈ It seems that flour swap likely made it more dry as coconut flour can be “thirstier” than other flours and you’d need to use a bit less. Here’s our flour guide for tips on switching out different keto flour options. https://hip2keto.com/tips/gluten-free-keto-flours-recipes/
Hoping you might like it better if you decide to try again! π₯°π€π
I must be missing something…based on your conversion chart, 1 teaspoon of powdered stevia would be comparable to over a cup of sugar? That doesn’t seem right. That would be a lot for one mug cake, right?
Thanks for pointing that out! We will be sure to make an update. You can always use the amount that tastes best for you Or try two packets of Truvia as another option. Hope that helps!
Hi Vicky, Thanks for checking that! A Stevia blend was used (Truvia) I updated, and sorry for the confusion. π
CAN YOU MIX ALL THE DRY INGREDIENTS AND STORE FOR FUTURE USE? TO JUST ADD THE WET INGREDIENTS LATER?
Ya that sounds like a great idea! π
Mine was a little dry but tasty. My microwave may have been too strong.
Oh yeah, could be. Thanks for the feedback, Sherrie! Maybe shorten the cooking time just a bit when you make it again!
Is 600 calories correct ? Just curious. Still going to make it sounds yummy
Yes Shellie! There are roughly 300 calories in the butter, 120 calories in the almond flour, 80 calories in the egg, and 100 calories in the cream cheese. Hope this helps!
Well it’s definitely not my cinnabon recipe but it’s pretty good. I increased cinnamon and stevia to the glaze and more stevia to the frosting and added vanilla to both. For some reason my Stevia doesn’t seem to sweeten like it should, especially when I add it to my coffee…don’t know what’s up with that. I can add a heaping spoon of it and it doesn’t sweeten it at all…and has a bitter aftertaste…but that’s not your problem. The mug cake is pretty good!!!
Hi Karen! Thanks a bunch for taking the time to comment! Glad to hear you enjoyed the mug cake!
I made this with just the glaze (no cream cheese icing). Loved it but not sure how you got 7gm total carbs. 3 TBSP of Almond flour alone is 7.5gm. I came up with a little over 14gm or am I figuring it incorrectly?
Hi Linda! It all depends on the brand of almond flour you use. If using Bob’s Red Mill super fine almond flour as pictured it’s only 6 grams of carbs for 1/4 cup with 3grams of dietary fiber. Some brands are higher than others. Hope this helpsβ₯
Forgot to rake a photo. First time making this mug cake. It was delicious! Husband said it was better than a donut.
Awesome! Thanks for your review π₯° Maria!
