Trick or [Sugar-Filled] Treat!
We all know that in a kid’s mind Halloween means one thing — candy. With this, we know parents have something else on their minds — sugar. And don’t even get me started about what Halloween means to dentists. But with more people realizing the pitfalls of sugar, we’re happy to offer some non-candy teal pumpkin approved alternatives that are just as much of a treat for your little goblins this Halloween, many of which can be found for just $1 at your local Dollar Tree!
1. Sticker Boxes
17. Spider Rings
21. Glow-in-the-Dark Sticky Eyeballs
What’s even better? These treats all follow the Teal Pumpkin Project guidelines!
The what project?!
The Teal Pumpkin Project was created by FARE with the idea to give out non-food items so kids are able to participate in the fun holiday, but without receiving things that can make them sick. By setting out a teal pumpkin, you tell parents it’s safe for children with allergies to stop by your home to trick or treat.
Need a teal pumpkin? Check out Target for their selection of teal pumpkins in an array of sizes. They even have treat buckets for the kiddos to indicate to those handing out the treats that they have food allergies. Even better, since they won’t spoil, you’ll have no mess and be able to use them year after year!
And for the parent’s who are used to nibbling on the treats as they get handed out:
Try Lily’s Chocolates — they’re a Hip2Keto team favorite! Offered in a variety of flavors, you’ll cure all the chocolate cravings without eating a mountain of sugar.
Now you’ll be ready for any and all trick-or-treaters who come your way!
