Check out these tasty and easy-to-make keto ham and cream cheese roll-ups using mini dill pickles and Everything bagel seasoning.

In some areas, this keto creation is called Minnesota Sushi. While the origin of this name is unclear, this savory treat is a hit no matter where you’re from. If you know where the Minnesota Sushi name comes from, please share in the comments!

The entire family will love these ham and pickle roll-ups as a keto-friendly snack or appetizer, and they’ll disappear fast – so consider making more than anticipated.

Grab these easy ingredients, and let’s roll!

I’m using ham lunch meat, but technically you can use turkey or roast beef. Try to look for varieties without added sugar. Next, grab some cream cheese and mini dill pickles. As a fun addition, I used Everything But the Bagel seasoning.

This is such a versatile idea too, as you can season your cream cheese with fresh herbs or chives, and use other lunch meats as well.

These take just a couple of minutes to make.

Simply spread cream cheese on top of a slice of ham and sprinkle with seasoning (you can also soften your cream cheese first to make it easier to spread). Then tightly roll up the pickle in the slice of ham. I used a paper towel to dab some of the pickle juice around the outside of the pickle first, so it’ll roll easier.

Sliced Low-Carb Ham and Cream Cheese Roll-Ups

Then you can slice your roll into 4-5 bite-size slices. I noticed it does help to place your wrap in the fridge first until cream cheese is firmer, but if you’re impatient, it will still work to slice right away (it just might not look as pretty). Then add more seasoning to the top if desired for serving.

They look like keto pickle sushi bites, right?

This is such a pretty snack or appetizer, and they taste super yummy as well. My family enjoyed this idea, and if you love pickles like us, you’ll be a fan, too.

It’s also worth mentioning that ham and cream cheese roll-ups can be a wonderful snack to pack up in a covered container and take to school, work, or on the go. It’s such a smart snack to prep ahead and to have ready in the fridge – YUM!

I so badly want to like pickles for keto purposes but they are just disgusting lol

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Maybe use cucumbers instead?

  2. Lee Ann

My mom used to make this along with the green onion version for holidays. Except she used a sweet pickle. Probably to off set the green onion in the other roll ups. So addictive

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yum! Thanks for sharing Lee Ann!

  3. Amber

I’ve made these for years and I LOVE them. You can use Turkey or salami too but not sure if it would still be Keto.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

YUM! Thanks for commenting, Amber! Just be sure to check for any hidden sugars! Hope that helps!

  4. Brenda

I make them using pickled asparagus and sliced turkey, but I’m definitely going to try this, they sound delicious 🙂

      Oh yum! Thanks Brenda!

  5. Joan

I make these for lots of family and church gatherings. They’re always a hit. Since beginning on keto, I can’t find any kind of ham that has zero sugar! Very high in carbs so I never eat them. Do you have a particular brand that you could recommend?

    • Angie (Hip2Keto Sidekick)

Hi Joan! Applegate Farms sells sugar free packaged meat. Hope this helps❤

  6. Laura

I make these often. I mix horseradish into the cream cheese for a little kick!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I bet that puts it over the top! Love the idea, Laura!

  7. Maggie Amosson

We’ve made these for a long time, using Claussen pickle spears, corned beef, and soft garden vegetable cream cheese. Yummy! We’ve discovered they slice better after refrigerating too!

    • Angie (Hip2Keto Sidekick)

Hi Maggie! This sounds so delicious. I’ll be sure to look out for the veggie cream cheese❤ Thank you for the tip on refrigerating them!
